We are back from a fossil hunting excursion in Oregon, near the John Day Fossil Beds. The group we went with was too large (over 100 people), but otherwise, it was a lot of fun. We visited Indian pictographs, learned a lot about the geology of the area (the trip was led by a geologist), saw a ghost town, spotted assorted wildlife, and, last but not least, found some nice leaf and petrified wood fossils.
