We are back from a fossil hunting excursion in Oregon, near the John Day Fossil Beds. The group we went with was too large (over 100 people), but otherwise, it was a lot of fun. We visited Indian pictographs, learned a lot about the geology of the area (the trip was led by a geologist), saw a ghost town, spotted assorted wildlife, and, last but not least, found some nice leaf and petrified wood fossils. Here are some pictures from the trip:

How exciting!! Where we live there are LOTS of fossils...it is fun when all of a sudden one pops up in the backyard. Your trip sounds like it was a lot of fun!
 
Birgit!! I love these pictures. I know y'all had a fantastic time. The beauty of God's wonderful creation is simply overwhelming at times!
