How to say Birgit
Thus went a search string that brought someone to my blog recently. So to accomodate any future visitors, this is how to say Birgit:
Bir = like the first syllable in mirror (but turn the rolling R into something less rolling :-)
git = just the way it looks, hard g sound.
Emphasis on the first syllable.
That said, I now have completely reconciled myself to Burrgit, which is how everyone usually pronounces my name and how I have even started introducing myself - the other way just doesn't seem to come natural to people over here :-)
