Taking Laurie's cue here:
This is how I read the following terms:
modern: rational, hierarchical, linear, formal, logical approach to church, thought, and life.
postmodern: relational, horizontal, open-ended, informal, mystical approach to church, thought, and life.
missional: substitute for "evangelistic", which isn't considered pc any more, outward-focused, living life in a way that is conducive to introducing Christ to those who don't know him.
catholic - church universal
monastic - simplefied, disciplined, rhythmical, in community.
