Can you see Mary, after the angel left? How confused she must have been? She needs some time, and decides to go to her cousin Elizabeth's house. But what a house she is getting into - there is Elizabeth, pregnant with a miracle baby. There is Zecharias, still mute, scribbling on a slate when he has something to say. A house that has run into the miraculous, just like Mary has. How good it was of God to give her friends who could understand what was going on, at least to some extend! Who have had their own run-in with angels, and their own improbable child growing. God could have chosen that last of the prophets to be born in some far away place. But he knew Mary would need support, would need someone who knew, who could understand. And so there is Elizabeth, with a baby in her belly who can recognize the coming of the Messiah; Elizabeth, who by prophetic gifting understands who that baby is that Mary has just conceived, the first one to proclaim Him Lord. And Mary finally can share with someone who understands that this baby is good news:

I'm bursting with God-news;
I'm dancing the song of my Savior God.
God took one good look at me, and look what happened--
I'm the most fortunate woman on earth!

Luke 1:46-48, The Message

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.

Isaiah 9:2,6,7
