Last night my son had a sleepover, but everyone got enough sleep in spite of that, thanks to daylight saving time. After church, the kids and I went apple picking at an orchard, and now there are three buckets of apples on the counter, and homemade apple sauce simmering on the stove (no doubt to be followed by apple pie, apple cake, apple chutney, apple.....). We raked up huge piles of leaves that fell off our tree, golden yellow and smelling like fall. No need to fix dinner - plenty of pizza left from the sleepover. Some days are just wonderful :-)
